PRP Injections

Platelets are blood cells that help the body clot blood and stop bleeding. They also contain growth factors and cytokines that stimulate healing in bones and tissue. In using platelet-rich plasma, a patient’s blood plasma is concentrated with platelets and can be used to promote the healing of damaged tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints.
PRP injections are prepared by separating the patient's blood to concentrate the platelets. The platelets are then injected into the area containing the damaged tissue. These injections are prepared and injected by Dr. Dines in the office. Dr. Dines uses PRP to treat overuse injuries affecting the tendons.
